Full and Part-Time Preschool Teacher Position Requirements

  • Minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education units

  • Bachelor’s Degree, emphasis in education is preferred but not required

  • Previous experience in Early Childhood setting, 2+ years experience preferred

  • Live Scan clearance

  • Current TB and Health Report

  • CPR/First Aid certified

  • Mandated Reporter Training Completion

Job Description: WCPC Preschool is seeking a warm and nurturing Preschool teacher with love and compassion for children and their families. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a play-based preschool and desires to be part of a collaborative team, providing excellent developmentally appropriate lesson plans with creativity and joy. Looking for someone who wants to make a difference in the lives of children.

About This Position: Under the guidance of the Director, work with children by implementing age-appropriate, play-based curriculum. Come alongside parents to work as a team to nurture and prepare children for the next steps in learning, with excellent verbal and written communication skills to keep communication strong. Collaborate with other teachers in a supportive and caring Christian environment to be the example of our faith to the children and their families.

Opportunity to work 5 days a week for 5.5-8 hours/day in this wonderful community of teachers and parents. Hours may vary depending on classroom needs. The school follows the calendar of the nearby school districts. Competitive pay, commensurate with applicant’s background and experience. Position includes paid time-off and paid federal holidays. Full-time position is eligible for full benefits.

Assistant Director of Preschool

Walnut Creek Presbyterian Church Preschool seeks an enthusiastic Assistant Director to join our amazing team! This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a dedicated team and make a meaningful impact on children as they embark on their first classroom experience.

We are looking for a warm, organized, and charismatic Assistant Director to partner with us in shaping young minds. Together, we will cultivate a nurturing environment for our staff, families, and children as they begin their educational journey and grow in their walk with God.

Responsibilities:

As the Assistant Director of Preschool, you will:

Administrative & Operational Oversight

  • Ensure smooth daily operations by managing student enrollment, tuition processing, budget tracking, and compliance with licensing requirements.

  • Oversee records management, including student and staff files, attendance tracking, and required documentation.

  • Coordinate facility needs such as classroom setup, maintenance scheduling, and supply ordering.

Communication & Community Engagement

  • Serve as a key liaison between staff, families, and the church, ensuring clear and timely communication.

  • Manage parent and staff updates, including newsletters, event reminders, and enrollment information.

  • Support marketing efforts, such as maintaining the preschool’s website and outreach materials.

Staff & Classroom Support

  • Assist the Director in staff onboarding, scheduling, and general support.

  • Step in as Acting Director when needed and provide classroom coverage for short periods.

  • Participate in staff meetings and leadership discussions to support preschool operations.

Event & Program Coordination

  • Help plan and execute key preschool events, such as Parent Orientation, Parent Coffees, Chapel, and seasonal celebrations.

  • Organize enrollment periods, ensuring a smooth process for returning and new families.

  • Assist with annual planning, including tuition updates and program improvements.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Degree in Early Childhood Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.

    • Minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units (additional administrative units preferred). Willingness to complete required coursework in a timely manner if not yet met.

    • 2+ years of experience in school administration, preferably as a Preschool Director, Interim Director, or Assistant Director.

    CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
